Update log The purpose of this page is just to keep a log on the changes to the site; for most, this will be of no interest. 2008.11.09 - Updated site with new house shots, 2008 Buttonwillow track day, and the Burbank Sci-Fi convention autographs. 2008.06.14 - Frustations with current hosting company caused me to make a change, site uploaded to new hosting company, issues with the varying CGI/Perl scripts being reconfigured caused many hours troubleshooting. I found the default one from the hosting company had not ability to exclude files/directories, so my web-stats pages would be returned higher in the search results than the actual content. I've added a couple quotes/movies over the last couple months too. 2006.12.23 - Put up some better photos of the new Porsche 2006.12.10 - Put up the beginings of the Porsche 911 Turbo page; needs better photos. 2006.11.15 - Updated navigation to include the August road trip to Canada and back http://eriel.com/roadtrip. 2006.03.25 - Updated autograph page with additions from the Grand Slam Sci-Fi Summit, and changed Java navigation applet to DHTML navigation (more configurable, faster, less prone to loading issues). 2006.01.21 - Updated BMW page with pics from the new 2006 ///M3 2005.09.17 - Updated resume (finally) as options are explored, and the future planned. 2005.09.10 - Added site map to site. 2005.08.15 - Added a couple Poly grad photos, and some photos of the BMW mods. 2005.05.29 - Changed version of navigation java classes, re-doing menus (report bugs) with new tool, posted smaller BMW images, took off Cannondale bike that was sold. 2005.05.05 - Put up a page for the BMW. 2004.11.06 - Updated the root home page for eriel.com with new image on splash, and followed that by updating all of http://business.eriel.com changing colors/images to match. Over the last couple of months I've updated a couple of quotes, and threw in a new movie favorite. 2004.05.16 - Updated all autographs with actor's real names, along with all alternate tags, lightened up the text on the home page image. 2004.05.08 - Updated autographs page http://personal.eriel.com/autographs with twelve new autographs from the March Pasadena convention. 2003.07.15 - Added search engine to site http://personal.eriel.com/sitesearch.htm 2003.06.05 - Added a few quotes I've been keeping. 2003.05.21 - Played around with the image on the home page, still not happy with it, but I'm leaving it alone for now. 2003.05.10 - Totally reworked the business site http://business.eriel.com with a grovier look, and swapped out the Java for some rollover scripts. On this site, I have put up update images of the mountain bikes, and better house shots without the dingy fog. 2003.02.05 - Modified image on the homepage with groovyier font, and pointed both business and home sites to the same resume in root of parent site (easier maintanence). 2003.01.18 - Started up the business section of eriel.com...customer's had aversion to the eccentric nature of this site...so I put up some professional looking stuff to help promote the consulting gig http://business.eriel.com It needs a lot of work, but the skeleton is up. 2003.01.02 - Was getting bored of the same old look...and the Java starfield and binary clock were causing issues for Windows Netscape (although Mozilla was OK) and Macintosh versions of both NS and IE...so I yanked them. Now it looks thin. It'll probably look ugly for awhile until I design something cooler. 2002.12.29 - Cleaned up ugly table layout on home.htm...converted to .shtml for cgi counter script, added tons of new quotes from an old archive I had forgotten about. 2002.12.28 - DNS has rolled over smoothly, added new guestbook scripts (Perl) and tested, changed various broken links due to move, added new counter, changed ftp upload directions (now simply ftp://eriel.com will do it). 2002.12.22 - 2003.01.xx I'm changing the hosting company that eriel.com resides on.  I'd expect some down time as the DNS catches up and I go through the process with NetworkSolutions.  In the meantime--or any time in the future--you can get to the new servers at http://216.120.238.214/ 2002.12.14 - Added some quotes and movies lately. 2002.10.31 - Added some quotes and movies lately. 2002.09.21 - Added details to the mountain bike page, merged old and new guest book entries, and reworked some site structure aesthetics. 2002.09.12 - Added a page under "interests" for mountain biking, appended to quotes page, added midi track to homepage, dusted some cobwebs off of "hip links" page. 2002.07.26 - Changed title of homepage, and added new bug data--Java intermittently crashes browser on Mac boxes using Netscape only. 2002.06.03 - Posted a readme for the FTP site. Too many users having confusion as to its function and how to use it. 2002.06.02 - Reformated guestbook input values into tables, cleaned out many orphaned files, created code for custom 404 error messages (try it http://www.eriel.com/nosuchmonkey.htm), converted Word version of resume to html. 2002.05.30 - Added midi tune when loading up autograph page, more directory structure reorganization. 2002.05.11 - Reorganized ftp area with appropriate permissions, added secure area to site, overhauled some sloppy directory structure. 2002.05.06 - Upgraded site to "developer hosting" which changed the servers eriel.com was located, and rolled the IP, so the DNS may slow to catch up. Debugging old scripts and links commencing. New guest book uploaded and configured, added uploading/downloading ftp access, home.htm->home.shtml. 2002.03.29 - Added new babes of Trek from 10th annual Grand Slam Pasadena convention-used anchor points. Purple background = new picts. 2002.01.25 - Added rollover image to home.htm, added Flash button on home.htm for bugs, added bugs page with Java virtual machine link, appended to movies page, updated books with Feist Riftwar series, uploaded updated resume, added Flash button for updates page. 2001.10.07 - Appended new material to quotes page. 2001.08.05 - Added updated images of inside house, and uploaded home theater picts showing upgrades (thanks to S.A. for use of his digital camera) 2001.07.28 - Appended new material to quotes page. 2001.07.15 - Added some more books and movies to lists. Converted Star Trek .wavs to 64kbps mp3 files for quicker downloads. Added theme link to home page. 2001.07.04 - Modified counter on http://eriel.com/home.htm changed from outsource "counter.com" to built-in cgi script. Advantages: when "counter.com" is down (often), it doesn't hang the loading of other Java and thus the site; disadvantage: hits vs. unique hits are not differentiated on counter, but are still tracked through administrator logs. 2001.06.07 - Added update log to site and linked directly from http://eriel.com/home.htm (hope that makes you happy Steve!). 2001.06.03 - Added guestbook cgi script. Updated Java drop-down to link directly to sign/view the guestbook. Previously...about a year's worth of intermittent modifying and fine-tuning on new eriel.com domain. Actions not logged.
